As Summer Kickstart 2017 comes to a close, it is time to reflect on all the fun we have had and progress that has been made this summer. Our students have enjoyed making new friends while brushing up on their reading and math skills. One of the unique ways we encourage our students to read is through our R.E.A.D ( Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program. Trained therapy dogs and their owners visit our school and our students get to read to them. This program not only helps our students to build reading confidence, it also makes reading fun! We were happy to have four therapy dogs visit our school this summer: Morgan, Barney, Sammie and Izzy. Thank you so much to Irene, Joann, Linda and Miki, the wonderful volunteers that made our R.E.A.D program possible. As you can see from the pictures, this program is a delight for both the kids and dogs alike! Thank you to all who attended Summer Kickstart this year. We look forward to seeing you next year!
