Kindergarten ………………….Letter sounds and symbols
Research has shown that an effective precursor is teaching the sounds before letter names. A good introduction to school readiness and less intensive than other classes.
Grades 1- 2 ………………….Reading – Writing – Spelling
For students going into 1st grade, this is a “JUMP START” class. This class is also Intensive Remediation for grade 2. First grade is the most important year for Learning HOW to READ.
Grades 3 – 6 ……………………… Reading – Writing – Spelling
In grades 3 – 6 it is crucial that they be fluent readers and have good spelling skills. Poor readers don’t want to read and poor spellers often refuse to write. Comprehension and fluency are an integral part of the class.
Grades 7 – 8 ………………….. Reading – Writing – Spelling
For students grades 7 – 8 who need instruction in reading, spelling, and expressive writing. High School classes require the student to be proficient in their reading speed with good comprehension. We teach comprehension and fluency skills. Excellent also for the good reader but poor speller.
Grades 1 – 8 …………………………….. Math, Math, Math
For the student who isn’t proficient in math at their grade level, and whose math facts aren’t automatic.
Also perfect for the student who wants to review math concepts to stay fresh or get ahead for the fall.
Pre Algebra ……………………………Math, Math, Math
For the older student who is behind in math concepts or the student who wants a jump start. Math concepts through Pre-Algebra will be taught. Instruction in memorization of math facts offered if needed.
