Phoenix Academy is proud to announce LeDerick R. Horne as the keynote speaker for the 2020 Scholarship Luncheon.  LeDerick R. Horne describes himself as an artist of the spoken word, an advocate for people with disabilities and an ambassador to all.  Diagnosed with a learning disability in the third grade, LeDerick defies any and all labels.  He’s a dynamic spoken-word poet, a tireless advocate for all people with disabilities and an inspiring motivational speaker.  A bridge-builder between learners and leaders across the U.S. and around the world who serves as a role model for all races, genders, and generations. 

The Scholarship Luncheon honors two individuals who make an impact in the metro in the area of literacy.  Sara Woods will receive the Holland Literacy Advocate Award and Ken Bird will receive the Mactier/Clark Literacy Educator Award.

Proceeds from the Scholarship Luncheon provide tuition assistance to students who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend Phoenix Academy.  

Event registration will begin soon.  Please check back to register.  Tables seat ten.  Sponsor tables with preferred seating are available.  Patron table sponsors will be listed in the program.  Table/ticket costs are partially tax-deductible and prices are listed below.  Sponsorship tables are available and table sponsors will be listed in the program and on our website.
