Nancy has worked at Phoenix Academy since 2002 as a teacher, assistant director, and now, as the executive director, a position she’s held for the last 14 years. She graduated from St. Ambrose University with a B.A. in education and has taught in elementary and middle school classrooms for 24+ years. Understanding children with dyslexia has been her passion, and she has attended and been certified in several programs for understanding and remediation of learning disabilities.
In addition to teaching children, Nancy worked as a corporate trainer both at Quaker Oats and Waste Management. She also was hired as an educational consultant for McDonald’s Corporation.
Nancy grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to Omaha in 2001. Nancy and her husband, Bill, have two grown children, Billy and Elizabeth, and Daisy (our Read dog).
