Volunteers are Vital

Phoenix Academy’s Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast was on Tuesday, May 7th.  The breakfast was to honor and show appreciation to our many volunteers.  Volunteers are vital to our organization as they play a major role in helping us fulfill our mission.  Some of their duties include working in the classroom and in Read Naturally, assisting with office duties and making copies, helping with pizza orders and pizza pickup, helping tally Blimpie orders, and helping with our special events such as music programs, hot dog days, teacher appreciation, book fairs, and much more.

We had a great turnout for our fruit and quiche breakfast.  Each class made an appearance and the students expressed their appreciation by saying thank you as a group, handed out thank you notes, read poems and individually stated what they appreciated about the volunteers.  We want to thank our Board Member Joan Allen for all her help in making the breakfast so special.  In attendance were board members and former Board members, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, former parents and students, family of staff, and friends and neighbors of Phoenix Academy.  It was a wonderful, enjoyable morning and a great way to say “Thank You!” to our volunteers.
